Peeling an onion 9-16
My Christian walk has been like peeling an onion, with the hard outer layer being messy, easily removed and was discarded. You know that tough skin that protects the softer flesh underneath it. The first layer of flesh is usually a little tough and chewy, even after cooking it over a fire. I am not sure it applies to onions but the closer I get to the inner core of me, the softer and sweeter I experience life through Christ Jesus. Even though I feel nothing, divine encounters happen when I am full of the Living Water. There is no glory cloud, no goose bumps and I actually feel dry inside as they happen. I do not realize that it is a divine encounter until reflecting on it afterwards. Only then comes the shouts or feelings of praise and thanksgiving. I should remember to just do it, no matter how I feel, one step or layer at a time.
