Humor 6-11
Happy Son-day! Last night, at Church 242, a man gave a powerful testimony of overcoming the grief of losing a daughter to suicide. Doug has turned it around to start a suicide prevention ministry. Helping others always seems to end with ourselves being helped, sometimes more so. Doug later shared that he is a jokester and has actually had people quote scriptures that it is an evil practice. Of course, there is a right time and right place for humor. God puts me into belly laughs frequently, like when Moses asked to see Him on top of the mountain. He allowed Moses to see His backside as He passed by. That’s right, He showed Moses His butt. Now, I imagine that Moses pondered that the rest of his life. Asking himself, “Why did God display, of all the parts He could have shown, His butt to me?” I have witnessed men approach me with evil intent in their hearts, left scratching their heads wondering what was happening to them as God sent confusion into their minds. Afterwards, I have laughed repeatedly every time I have recalled the events. Show me a man who does not know God has a sense of humor and I will show you a man who does not know God. Enjoy praising Him today and remember joyful laughter is smiling out loud.
