Discipleship 6-18
Top of the morning to ya. Last night the message of being devoted to Christ hit home hard. I may have to start wearing my steel-toed boots to meetings if the Word keeps stepping on my toes. The giving of our time, talents and treasures reaches new heights when Jesus says to give up all and follow Him. And that those who do not are not worthy to be called His disciples. I have always felt conviction and have confessed my hypocrisy when singing “I Surrender All” in church services. God has not sent a lightning bolt to strike me down, so thank you Lord for your mercy and grace. Therefore, I remain a layperson assisting the true disciples on earth. So far, I have been comfortable in my role, but I see the need for quite time prayer and reflection for my future. Let us remember: Many are called but few chosen.
