Mighty Men 6-23

Buenos Dias. I wanted to rant on a Houston Chronicle article, “The American right wrong about masculinity” by David French on May 31st. But the Holy Spirit lead me to the pronoun Tachmonite, that I found in 2 Samuel 23:8. My KJV heads this chapter “Roll of David’s mighty men”, a must read on the subject of biblical masculinity. The Tachmonite, Josheb-basshebeth, was chief among the captains of David. But what David did in verses 16-17 proves to me that he was the mightiest of his time. After saying he was thirsty, three mighty men broke through an army of Philistines to draw water from a well. Upon receiving it, David refused to drink and poured it out to the Lord because it came through spilled blood. We men should remember to be more like God’s definition of mighty men.

PS: If you have never used a Strong’s concordance to study the B.I.B.L.E. and referenced the original Hebrew and Greek words, you are missing out on much depth.
