Spoken Word 8-24
I ponder on how the bible is not the written word of God, technically speaking, but it is the spoken word by God. Inspired men wrote the scriptures, but God spoke it through the Holy Spirit to them. I feel the distinction is important because the written word is like an idling vehicle in park, sitting in the driveway. To get anywhere the vehicle must be placed into gear. Similarly, the written word must be spoken out loud to get to our destination. Then the more we speak it is like pressing down the accelerator to feed the motor more fuel. Here in Texas, we know that when a storm is approaching, we must fill our gas tanks in preparation. Folks a big storm is approaching, so keep your tank full of the Word and be prepared to speak it out loud. Remember: practice makes perfect.
