Blessed Assurance 6-29

Good morning. Please allow me to tell more from Harvest Monday’s death encounters while walking trailer parks to share Jesus’ love. One man, Tim, lost his friend and neighbor, Bill, the previous morning. Tim actually found Bill, deceased on the ground in his yard, because they had a job to go do that morning. Naturally, Tim was torn up inside about it and even unsure about his own salvation when we asked him. After confessing he and Bill were heavy drinkers, along with other worse past deeds in his life, he said he was raised Southern Baptist. He invited us to see inside his trailer where there were crosses and several other religious items on display. When I said as a Baptist, he should know all about “Blessed Assurance” as that is a much sung hymn in the church, his eyes lit up. I wish I had told him to let his light shine on a hill for others to see a path out of the darkness. Remember: Blessed is the man that endures temptation; for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love Him.

PS: I guess blessed assurance is like our death insurance.
