Fired or Promoted 7-31
I have been contemplating the reactions of people praying for loved ones who have been given a bad report from their doctors. They have been advised to get their affairs in order because the odds of survival are low. Why should Christian believers react with such sadness and grief? Why do we cry and mourn the passing of our fellow Christians? And why do some get so mad at God that they reject Him because He decided it was their time, a decision probably made before they were born? Aren’t we saying that I would rather have my loved one here with me, going through the trials and tribulations to come, than to see them in heaven with you, God? Reality check, every one of us has been given a death sentence and no one is promised the rest of today, much less tomorrow. So, I guess it boils down to, do I really believe God is truthful and faithful or is it all a lie? Did Jesus really remove death’s sting? I, for one, think funerals should be a graduation or promotion party for the believer. I am reminded to only fear the second death that comes at judgement day per God’s word.
PS: My condolences to those in the middle of a loss.
